I took home my elderly father as soon as he was widowed. Still very active at his age, he goes to the park to meet friends of his age. At times, they agree on meeting at some other areas for a group activity.
At his age, I worry when he leaves home. I foresaw his need for a non lethal defense device, specifically, a personal alarm for elderly people.
These old men seemed to have fun that their meetings outside became more frequent. I decided that there was immediate need to get my Dad that personal alarm for elderly persons.
There are many types of non lethal defense tools that I would want my Dad to have. It is a necessity since young people like to pounce on vulnerable old men. Some even become pitiful victims of mugging.
I was thinking of the Screecher Aerosol Alarm for Dad. It creates powerful alarms that are loud enough to be heard up to quarter of a mile. Because it is small, it can fit in any pocket or purse. When he would be in a compromising situation, he can just activate the alarm to summon help.
The AL-2 is another model of the personal alarm that emits 120 dB of sound. It can be activated by pulling on a metal chain. When not brought outside, it can be hung on the doorknob to act as a home defense, too. When the knob is forcibly opened from the outside, it will give out a shrill.
One more fitting personal alarm for elderly people is the Electronic Pocket/Keychain Whistle. It produces a 120 dB alarm when a button is pushed. This is a versatile gadget since it can even be used in sports activities, military trainings, to man traffic, and in search missions.
I would also want the other senior friends of Dad to be protected, so I gifted all of them with different kinds of personal alarm for elderly men. Now, I need not worry every time they are out.

You would think that danger lurks only in the dark and that all predators look menacing. This makes it easy to be in denial about learning how to defend yourself. In real life, I was robbed in a busy street in the middle of the day.
I was slogging back to the workplace because I had sidled out for a miscellany of tasks. Someone, another faceless persona on a bicycle, cut in on me. He paused then held a menacing knife to my face, and I stopped dead.
“Do not do nothing funny,” he murmured as he clutched my bag. Before I could react, he had cut my arm and pedalled off. You do not think about how to defend yourself since you could not be that victim, until you are.
I may have lost some prized possessions but then I would gain the Stun Master 1.2 Million Volt Rechargeable Pen Stun Gun with Flashlight. With eventualities like it, you learn the hard way how to defend yourself and the payoff outweighs the loss somehow.
A mere 6 inches long, 1 inch in diameter and 2.5 oz. in weight, the Stun Master 1.2 Million Volt Rechargeable Pen Stun Gun with Flashlight is among the most practical high voltage stun guns out there.
Firing a forceful 1.2 million volts of electric shock into the body of an opponent, this self defense stun pen causes the momentary incapacitation of an attacker. Any unease with how to defend yourself could clear away.
An ultra bright LED flashlight fitted into the Stun Master 1.2 Million Volt Rechargeable Pen Stun Gun with Flashlight serves to enhance late night illumination. With a safety cap on, you avoid discharging it unintentionally.
In a stick-like body that resembles a pen, my mini stun gun guarantees my safety on any ordinary day on the off chance that I would happen upon a threat.

A customer was talking to our sales manager about his new car having some problems. It was about 10:00 a.m. when she came in and it was now about 11:30, and they have not agreed on anything yet.
When she pointed to her car, she instantly remembered that her little boy had been left there inside. She quickly ran out and to check the boy’s condition.
It was good that she had parked under the shade so nothing happened to the boy. But imagine what could have happened if he was out there in the open. We reminded the mother that she should think about car safety for kids in such situations.
We suggested, as we are in the car business, for her to use the 4 in 1 Auto Emergency Tool. When parents leave them alone in the car, this tool can give car safety for kids.
This emergency tool is specifically designed for car emergency situations. As the name implies, there are 4 tools included in the 4 in 1 Auto Emergency Tool. These tools function as a quick way of escape in case you or your loved ones are caught in a difficult situation inside your car.
Comprising the 4 tools are a blinking emergency light, a super bright flashlight, a seat belt cutter and a window escape hammer. All of these can be used to provide car safety for kids. Children can easily learn how to use them for emergency situations because they are just simple tools.
The hammer can be used to break the glass, the seat belt cutter, to free them from the seat belt, the emergency light, to alert anyone that they are trapped inside, and the flashlight, for use at night.
Parents who are really concerned about car safety for kids should have this 4 in 1 Auto Emergency Tool. They are very easy to use without any need for special instructions.

Prenatal nutritional vitamins are useful supplements for pregnant mothers Some doctors also recommend that any woman planning a prenatal begin taking pregnancy vitamins about three months prior to a deliberate conception. Prenatal nutrients are crucial to complement the mothers diet with the crucial nutrients that she would otherwise be lacking. The nutrients folic acid, calcium and iron are specially important.
Folic Acid Is An Necessary Nutrient
Essential for a healthy pregnancy, research sites that as many as 88% of Americans may be lacking in folic acid. The current RDI for folic acid is 400 mcg, but for pregnant women the Mayo Clinic recommends levels of 800 mcg per day. After conception, the need for folic acid increases to 1000 mcg per day. Some of this should come from food sources, such as nuts, beans, citrus fruits or leafy green vegetables.
Why is folic acid so important? Basically, low folic acid has been linked to neural tube defects such as Spina Bifida. This birth defect occurs when the nerves at the base of the neural tube are not fully enclosed. children are born with their nerves in the spine uncovered.. The result is a devastating birth defect that includes paralysis and numerous other health challenged.
Although actual primary research is scarce, folic acid has been shown to significantly reduce the probability of this devastating birth defect. Because this birth defect develops very early in the first trimester of having a baby, it is important that the mother have adequate folate levels. This is why it is so critical for women to be sure that they are receiving the folic acid they need prior to having a baby.
The Importance Of Calcium
Calcium is another essential mineral during having a baby. As the baby grows, he or she is using a few of the calcium in the mother’s body to grow. Without enough calcium, the mother’s bones can be at risk for developing osteoporosis. Every adult men and woman who is 19-50 years old, including pregnant women, need 1000 mg of calcium each day.
Beginning at age 51, the calcium requirement increases to 1200 mg per day. This is the recommended dosage for all people. Prenatal nutritional vitamins are meant to be used as a aid, not to fulfill all of the nutritional requirements a person has. As such, the calcium level of most prenatal natural vitamins is only about 200-300 mg. Another source of calcium is necessary to meet the recommended number of milligrams per day.
The Significance Of Iron
The suggested iron intake for non-pregnant women ages 19-50 is just 18 mg per day. When pregnant, a woman’s iron needs increase to 27 mg per day. Iron supplements will help avoid anemia and make sure that the mother’s and baby’s blood have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen efficiently. Half of all pregnant women are lacking in iron. Iron deficiency has been shown to increase the risk of premature labor and low birth weight. Premature labor and low birth weight come with their own sets of health problems.
Prenatal is a time when several things are out of your control. Will your baby have all of his or her fingers and toes? Will he or she have a birth defect? Will you miscarry? All of these things are potential problems that you can do nothing about. One of the things you can control is whether or not you take in enough of the essential nutrients and minerals, particularly folic acid, calcium and iron. Give your baby the best possible start in life. Make sure you are taking good quality prenatal nutritional vitamins throughout your being pregnant and while you are nursing. Take Your Parental Nutritional vitamins And Give Your Baby A Great Start In Life
Obstetricians and midwives all recommend that pregnant women take prenatal supplements to supplement their diets. A few doctors and midwives tell women to begin pregnancy nutritional vitamins three months prior to conceiving. Making sure that the mother and baby get enough natural vitamins is critical. Folic acid, calcium and iron are three of the most essential during having a baby.
Folic Acid Protects Against Neural Tube Defects
According to Hans R. Larsen, MSc, ChE, about 88% of all Americans do not get enough folic acid in their diets. This means that there is a good chance you are not receiving enough. Folic acid is one of the B nutritional vitamins. Women of childbearing age who are planning a having a baby should take 800 micrograms (mcg) of folate or folic acid every day. Once pregnant, this amount should be increased to 1000 mcg every day. Ideally, most folic acid should come from foods, including green leafy vegetables, nuts, beans and citrus fruits.
What is the big deal about receiving enough folic acid? A deficiency in folic acid can cause a neural tube birth defect, the most usual of which is Spina Bifida. In a neural tube defect, the baby’s spine and nerves are not safely inside of the body. Rather, the baby is born with an open spine and nerves. That is to say, the spine and nerves are outside of the body, visible to the eye. In this unprotected state, nerves are damaged. While surgery can correct this defect, the damage is done to the nerves and the child will have varying degrees of paralysis and other consequences from being born with an open spine.
There is something you can do to preclude this birth defect. You can take the recommended dosages of folic acid prior to and throughout your prenatal. Since this neural tube defect occurs very early in having a baby, within the first 28 days, all women should take 400 mcg of folic acid as a matter of course. Folic acid has been shown to avoid neural tube defects in various studies.
Calcium Prevents Against Bone Loss
Growing a new body is a very complex task that draws on the mother’s body. Taking a calcium aid is necessary to stop bone loss in the mother. A lack of calcium sets a mother up for a greater risk of osteoporosis and a variety of other health problems. The suggested dosage of calcium for everybody between the ages of 19 and 51 is 1000 mg every day, this includes pregnant women.
After age 51, the recommended dose of calcium per day is 1200 mg. Keep in mind that prenatal natural vitamins are only meant to aid the diet, not supply the entire amount of calcium necessary. Most prenatal vitamins provide only 200-300 mg. So, to meet all of your calcium needs and the needs of your baby, it is crucial to eat calcium-rich foods and not rely solely on your pregnancy vitamin for you calcium needs.
Iron Prevents Low Birth Weight
Iron is critical to red blood cell formation. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the entire body. Without enough iron and red blood cells, you will experience fatigue and a host of other symptoms. A full 50% of all pregnant women do not get enough iron. Women who do not get enough iron have been shown to go into labor too early and have low birth weight babies. Pregnant women should get 27 mg of iron each day.
Mother Nature controls most of a baby’s growth ahead of birth. But, there are things you can influence and defects you can avoid by taking the recommended amounts of prenatal nutritional vitamin supplements. Be sure you do everything you can to give your baby a good start in life. Take your vitamins. You Can put a stop to Birth Defects By Taking Parental Supplements
Women who are planning to become pregnant or who are currently pregnant should take pregnancy vitamins to correct any deficiencies in their diets. While pregnancy nutrients will not supply all of the nutritional vitamin supplements and minerals a woman needs, they will aid shortfalls in the woman’s diet. Taking prenatal supplements will ensure that the baby is healthful at birth and that the mother remains healthful throughout her having a baby. Three vitamins and minerals that are absolutely important during prenatal are folic acid, calcium and iron. Being deficient in any of these can create major health problems for the baby and the mother, as well as create complications in the being pregnant itself.
Folic Acid: A Required B Vitamin
Research revealed that an astounding 88% of all Americans do not get enough folic acid. According to the Mayo Clinic, all women planning a pregnancy need 800 micrograms of folic acid each day. Upon conception the folic acid requirements increase to 1000 mcg a day.
Neural tube defects are one of the most preventable birth defects. Folic acid can put a stop to neural tube defects like Spina Bifida. When a baby is born with Spina Bifida, his or her spine is open and outside of the body, not closed and protected. Nerves are exposed and usually experience some kind of damage, which results in paralysis, cerebral palsy and other health issues that will last a lifetime.
Neural tube defects occur by the 28 th day of pregnancy. This is well prior to most women even realize that they are expectant a baby. Research has shown that folic acid can stop neural tube defects. Every woman should take 400 mcg of folic acid or folate per day to make sure their folic acid needs are met.
Calcium: A Required Mineral
All men and women, including pregnant women, who are between 19 and 50 years old need 1000 mg of calcium per day. The baby uses the mother’s stores of calcium and the calcium that the mother eats. If the mother is not receiving enough calcium to meet her own needs and the needs of the baby, she could develop health problems, such as bone loss and osteoporosis.
Starting at 51 years old, calcium requirements for all adults increase to 1200 mg per day. Most pregnancy natural vitamins contain only 200-300 mg of calcium. Therefore, they cannot be relied upon to supply an entire day’s calcium requirements.
Iron: Required For Red Blood Cell Formation
A full half of all pregnant women are deficient in iron, or anemic. Without iron, the body cannot make the necessary number of red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout the body. This results in fatigue and other symptoms, as well as low birth weight and premature labor amongst pregnant women. Iron needs increase from 18 mg a day for females who are not pregnant to 27 mg a day for pregnant females.
Although interesting, having a baby can be very tense. Many women experience concern over the health of their baby. While much of a baby’s development is essentially out of the mother’s hands, there are a number of things that the mother can do to give the baby the best opportunity for health possible. By avoiding alcohol and smoking, eating healthful and taking a pregnancy vitamin, the mother can do a lot for her developing baby.

Yeast infection treatments require your knowledge of the nature of yeast infections and how yeast and fungus overgrows in certain parts of the body.
Among women, vaginal yeast infection is a common problem. It is often caused by the over-proliferation of a species of fungus called Candida albicans. As such, vaginal yeast infection is also called candidiasis, or vaginal candidiasis. Its common symptoms are vaginal itchiness, soreness, rashes, pain during urination or sexual intercourse, and a white, cheese-like vaginal discharge.
When the situation is ripe, Candida fungi can get to unhealthy, infectious levels. This happens often when the host has a compromised immune system, or contraceptive pills, antibiotics or steroids. Concentrations of Candida can be found in the warm, moist areas of the body, like the vagina, the mouth and the armpits.
In the mouth, a yeast infection is called an oral thrush. Elsewhere, it turns up as a skin or diaper rash. It is sometimes found as infection of the nail-bed. Normally, the skin defends itself with natural oils that protect against fungi. However, these may be severely compromised by excessive washing, harsh chemicals, or cuts in the skin.
Antifungal medicines are most often used to treat yeast infections on the skin surface. Infections of the nail-bed generally take longer to treat. Rarely, but significantly, a yeast infection may get into the bloodstream. This can cause a potentially dangerous systemic condition that must not be ignored. Stronger antifungals are the standard treatment.
A systemic infection will probably result in the prescription of amphotericin B, the most common treatment. For milder yeast infections, drugs of the “-azole” family will suffice. This family includes tioconazole, butoconazole, miconazole, fluconazole, and clotrimazole. Fluconazole is the most commonly used of this group. It’s often given as a single oral dose to effectively eliminate the yeast infection. The other drugs in the “-azole” family are found in antifungal lotions and creams, to be topically applied some number of times until the infection clears up. Vaginal suppositories contain different combinations of these compounds. These drugs are recommended as both prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
There are home remedies for yeast infections that have been in use for many decades or even centuries. The collection of natural remedies includes douches with vinegar, boric acid vaginal creams, garlic and/or tea tree oil. This list also includes probiotics such as yogurts that contain lactobacillus.
A week’s use of these natural remedies gives many women the relief they seek from the symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. The effectiveness of these home treatments is magnified when women take the following precautions:
-Take showers. Avoid taking baths. Particularly avoid hot tub baths and whirlpools.
-Let your skin breath. Avoid tight-fitting underwear, pantyhose and pants.
-Do not use scented feminine hygiene products such as vaginal sprays, tampons and pads.
-Boost the immune system with vitamins and supplements. E.g. vitamins A and E, garlic, pau d’arco and echinacea.
-Do not douche.
-Use condoms to practice safe sex
-Wear cotton underwear not synthetic
-Take off wet clothes immediately and put on something dry
The yeast infection treatments described here are very effective in inhibiting yeast infections. However, if the infection recurs within two months, or if does not completely disappear after a week of home treatment, you should see a medical professional.

When I visited my friend, I saw what was like a flare gun hanging on his wall. He was not in any way working in a ship. I knew this so I asked him what it was.
It is not a flare gun, he said, but a defense spray, a Mace pepper spray gun, to be exact. When I took a closer look, I noticed that the model is Mace Pepper Gun – Blue. It is not an ordinary pepper spray, but a variation of that.
A thief who was stealing his valuable items in his house was stopped by this Mace Pepper Spray Gun at one time. That is the reason that he vouches for its effectiveness. When he sprayed the hot pepper substance onto the eyes and face of the thief, it instantly stopped him.
The defense spray has so affected the robber in many ways that he was able to turn him over to the police without any resistance.
This defense spray is his choice to be used in his house because it is like a gun that can intimidate potential intruders. I commented that that is a bright idea. With that, I began to be interested in the Mace Pepper Spray Gun and determined to get more information about it.
I learned from the internet that the Oleoresin Capsicum substance of the Mace Pepper Spray Gun could stop anyone in his tracks. When sprayed to a target, the eyes will shut, the swelling of the mucous membranes will follow, causing breathing difficulties, and a hot burning sensation will be felt in the skin.
Other models with different colors like Blue/Black, White, Pink and Silver are available for the Mace Pepper Gun. All models have a LED light each that provides the advantage of accurate aiming. The spray distance can reach up to 25 feet.
